International Business

This leading consumer business is constantly evolving and has a need for a senior employment lawyer for its international legal team.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will play a key part in advising on general employment law queries, contractual issues, letters and processes, dismissals, employment litigation, restrictive covenants and day-to-day HR issues such as grievance and disciplinary matters. You will be responsible trying the business and providing updates on relevant legislation.

You will closely with HR and you will be involved with training the business and ensuring a coordinated approach to employment law issues and implementation of best practice. You will proactively manage legal risk, including emerging legal risks to the business, and make recommendations for change where required.

About You 

This is a unique opportunity for an employment lawyer to take on a strategic role with a high profile retail business and work with an international consumer brand.

In-house experience is essential, as the role requires experience establishing strategic working relationships across a large business. Working closely with HR teams in large businesses is also key. Any experience working in consumer brands will also be highly regarded.

The position will suit an individual accustomed to managing complex employment matters, often involving other jurisdictions. You will have the opportunity to work with people across the EMEA and wider international business and as a result, strong interpersonal skills will also be highly beneficial.
