This leading international retailer has an opportunity for a senior lawyer with regulatory experience in a consumer setting to join as Head of Regulatory Law. At a key time for the retail market, this company is investing heavily in people and in key roles in at group level, of which this role is one.

About the Opportunity

As Head of Regulatory Law for a high profile, well-recognised consumer brand, you will lead on matters relating to consumer regulatory law, investigations, health & safety, Trading Standards, food safety and GSCOP. You will also be responsible for leading and developing compliance frameworks which manage reputation and mitigate risk, as well as having an overview of wider compliance matters.

The role manages two people and works closely with the General Counsel and the wider legal team as well as the consumer finance team, audit committee and the Board.

About You

Experience across a range of regulatory law within a consumer or retail context is key, with any experience in food regulation or GSCOP being highly regarded. Experience managing reputational risk is also key. The ability to design compliance frameworks and manage investigations is also essential. This is a rare and unique in-house opportunity for a regulatory lawyer to join a consumer-led, high profile organisation in a key role for the business with the opportunity to manage a team. In addition, you must be able to work with the wider business, advising on regulatory matters in a commercial way and providing dedicated support and advice where required.
